Globalization and Migration are two things that can not be separated. Both have an impact on the social growth of the world community. Discourse on migration is something that needs to be done. The phenomenon is studied more deeply by the International Relationship Studies Postgraduate of Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta in international seminar. The event was held on August 2-3, 2017 at the Graduate Building of Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta. Seminar and Workshop with theme of INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON MIGRATION, HIJRAH AND UMMAH IN NUSANTARA AND BEYOND: PARADIGMS OF PEACE, CONTESTATION AND TRANSFORMATION is a collaboration with Malaysia – Indonesia Research Center for CSR and Leadership (Malindo Research Center), Center for Policy Research and International Studies, Universiti Sains Malaysia Center for Applied Ethics (Malaysia), Linkoping University (Sweden). By presenting several keynote speakers among them is Associate Prof. Dr. Reevany Bustami (Center for Policy Research International Studies, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Malaysia), Dr. Ellisha Nasruddin (School of Business, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Malaysia), Dr. Ismail Wekke (Islamic High School, Sorong, Indonesia), Assist Prof. Dr. Ir. Elin Palm, (Center for Applied Ethics, Linköping University, Sweden), Prof. Dr. Mustafa Selcuk (Visiting Professor, University of Muhammadiyah Malang, Indonesia, Dr. Suyatno (Faculty of Law & International Relations, University of Sultan Zainal Abidin, Malaysia), Dr. Mohd Afandi Salleh (Faculty of Law & International Relations, Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin, Malaysia ), Dr. Linda Sunarti (University of Indonesia, Indonesia), and Dr. Sidiq Jatmika (University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta).

The series of events starts on August 2, 2017. Located on the 4th floor of the amphitheater room will be held workshop. Then on August 3, 2017 will take place Plenary Session by presenting speakers (presenter) from among students who come from various campuses in Indonesia. Approximately 20 students have the opportunity to present their papers and research results.

Through the International Conference on Humanity Issues (Iscohi) program, this Seminar and Workshop is included in the annual agenda of UMY International Relations Postgraduate. The hope of the Graduate School of International Relations of the University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta in the implementation of this international seminar and workshop is able to provide not only the contribution of thought but also the solution for all problems related to migration.
