Going Global, UMY’s Master’s Program Holds a Guest Lecture from the Philippines for All Indonesian Higher Education Institutions.

Published on the official Magister Keperawatan website, the Magister Keperawatan (MKep) program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) held a Guest Lecture as part of a series of overseas clinical practice activities, in collaboration with Cebu Normal University, Philippines. The Guest Lecture was officially opened by the Head of the International Relations Office (IRO) of UMY, Mr. Yordan Gunawan, SH., MH., MBA, on Monday, January 25, 2021.

“This Guest Lecture focuses on two main themes. The first is nursing innovation in neurology, specifically for medical-surgical nursing students. The second theme is frameworks of learning relevant to nursing education, both in classroom and clinical settings, and is intended for nursing education (NEDU) students. The materials will be presented by lecturers from Cebu Normal University, Philippines,” said Fitri Arofiati S.Kep., Ns., MAN., Ph.D., Head of the Magister Keperawatan Study Program at UMY, in an interview.

Fitri added that this Guest Lecture is not only targeted at UMY’s own Magister Keperawatan students but also at students from all Muhammadiyah-Aisyiyah Higher Education Institutions (PTMA) throughout Indonesia. This event is free for all PTMA students. This demonstrates the Magister Keperawatan UMY’s commitment to nursing education in Indonesia by providing new nursing knowledge from other countries, in line with UMY’s global vision.
