Graduates of the Master of Accounting (Magsi) program at UMY can work and pursue careers as:

Academic
Concentration
Currently, MAKSI UMY only offers one concentration, namely Strategic Management Accounting. However, MAKSI UMY provides sub-concentrations for more in-depth academic study, including:
- Strategic Management Accounting - Sharia Entities
- Strategic Management Accounting - Public Entities
This program offers courses such as Audit Risk Management, Research Methodology, Management Control System and Data Analytics, Strategic Management and Integrated Reporting, Strategic Management Accounting, and more. Through a combination of a comprehensive curriculum and interactive teaching, students will be able to apply accounting theories to real-world business situations.
Teaching Methods
Currently, only regular classes are available. Generally, classes are conducted offline. However, online learning is also possible in certain situations with a maximum ratio of 40% of total meetings.
The curriculum is based on Outcome-Based Education where the study materials are adjusted to the latest job market needs. Learning methods employ a workshop approach, case studies, intensive assistance, and assignments based on journal publications.
The study duration at Maksi UMY is three semesters, with the third semester dedicated solely to thesis courses. Thesis supervisors are assigned in the first semester, allowing students to submit their thesis proposals as early as the first semester. The Master of Accounting program is a postgraduate educational program designed to produce competent, qualified, and integrity-driven accounting professionals who are ready to face the complex challenges of the business world.
It was a great experience to be selected in taking part in the Dual degree program (UMY-MSU-IIT) because It gave me an opportunity to meet a different kind of people from around the world and learned many things from them. I see this experience as a unique opportunity to explore what I truly want in life rather than a paper to leverage a promising career. The dual degree was a worthwhile experience and I feel that it has prepared me well for my professional career
