The Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta Graduate Program held its first graduation ceremony for the 2018/2019 academic year on Thursday, October 18th, in the 4th-floor meeting room of the Kasman Singodimedjo Building on the UMY main campus. The event marked the completion of studies for 187 graduate students and recognized the top nine graduates from each study program, including:
Sri Atmaja P. Rosyidi, ST., MSc.Eng., Ph.D., P.Eng., the Director of the Graduate Program, delivered a congratulatory speech, urging graduates to contribute their knowledge and skills to society. He emphasized the importance of systematic, rational thinking and maintaining strong values.
The event also featured a final lecture by Dr. Gunawan Budiyanto, M.P., and Ir. Ahmad Sauqi S, M.M., on the theme “Strengthening the Character of UMY Graduate Students to Face the Era of Industry 4.0.”
Dr. Gunawan emphasized the importance of action and impact, stating, “It’s not about how many books you’ve read, but how much you can change the world with that knowledge. Be agents of change through knowledge and strive for positive transformation.”
Ir. Ahmad Sauqi highlighted the need for continuous learning and contributing to society, regardless of one’s location.
