As reported on the official website of the Doctoral Program in Islamic Politics, the Head of the Doctoral Program in Islamic Politics and Political Science at UMY, Dr. Zuly Qodir, spoke at a Seminar and Book Launch on Strengthening School Supervision entitled “Character Education for Strengthening the Pancasila Ideology” on Wednesday (10/9) at the Ministry of Education and Culture building in Jakarta. This event was organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) in collaboration with the Maarif Institute.
The issue of radicalism is a common problem for all of us, not just Muslims, educational institutions, or non-Muslims. Extreme radicalism can endanger everyone, because radicalism goes against the teachings of any religion.
Dr. Zuly stated that we must all be vigilant against the problem of radicalism while continuing to love and defend the state ideology so that justice and true law prevail. Pancasila must be practiced, not just preached, so that it becomes an example in life. This is one way to prevent radicalism in Indonesia.
