
Wednesday (08/01), Professor of the Faculty of Education of Yogyakarta State University (FIP UNY), Prof. Dr. Siti Irene Astuti Dwiningrum, M.Si. became a guest speaker in a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) held by the Postgraduate Program of Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta (PPs UMY) with the theme “Entrepreneurial University”. The discussion was chaired by Prof. Ir. Sri Atmaja P. Rosyidi, M.Sc.Eng., Ph.D., P.Eng., IPU., ASEAN.Eng. as Director of PPs UMY and attended by all Heads of Study Programs and Secretaries of Study Programs within the UMY Postgraduate Program.
This discussion aims to prepare PPs towards an entrepreneurial university by bringing in speakers from other universities who have implemented an entrepreneurship curriculum at their universities, one of which is UNY. UNY entrepreneurship expert said, “UNY has an entrepreneurship curriculum that is equipped with supporting facilities such as entrepreneurship laboratories” quoted from the official website of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UNY.
As a resource person, Prof. Dr. Siti Irene Astuti Dwiningrum, M.Si. conveyed important issues related to higher education, sustainability, global citizenship and a more inclusive, adaptive and personalized education orientation. To make an entrepreneurial university, lecturers who have entrepreneurial skills are needed. Therefore, the speakers emphasized that the curriculum is the foundation for a university because the curriculum owned by an institution has its own characteristics.
