Care Provider

A nurse who possesses leadership qualities in the interdisciplinary development of nursing science based on evidence-based nursing, Islamic values, and a global perspective.

Educator

A nurse who is capable of managing and developing nursing education management at both the academic and clinical levels, while keeping up with global developments in nursing education technology based on Islamic values.

Researcher

A nurse who possesses the ability to solve nursing problems in educational and service settings based on Islamic values and a global perspective.

Learning Process

The learning process involves providing students with a student-centered learning experience, based on a competency-based curriculum aligned with the Indonesian National Qualification Framework (KKNI). Additionally, students have the opportunity to engage in learning experiences at partner universities and hospitals abroad to broaden their knowledge and experience. Islamic values, a hallmark of Muhammadiyah, are integrated into the curriculum and learning process, preparing students for the workplace. We hope that the UMY Master of Nursing Program will contribute to enhancing the quality of education and development services in Indonesia, fulfilling our institution's responsibility to the nation.

Featured Program

ASF is an annual routine event as a form of commitment from the Master of Nursing Study Program at UMY to contribute to the development of nursing science and nursing education in Indonesia. The purpose of holding ASF is to enhance the academic atmosphere and to provide a space for academics, researchers, practitioners, and other stakeholders in the field of nursing to discuss the development of nursing science and nursing education in Indonesia. ASF is organized in collaboration with various health and nursing education institutions in Indonesia and Asia, and is attended by academics, researchers, and practitioners in the field of nursing.

Every year, the UMY Master of Nursing program receives and sends students from nursing institutions abroad as part of a student exchange program. The aim of this activity is to provide insights into transcultural nursing, enrich students' experiences, and enhance their knowledge in the field of nursing and nursing education.

The UMY Master of Nursing program is currently collaborating with nursing education institutions in Indonesia and the Faculty of Nursing, Khon Kaen University, Thailand to conduct research in both Indonesia and Thailand. Currently, the Master of Nursing program is also initiating a joint research program with Central Taiwan University of Science and Technology and Chubu Gakuin University, Japan.

Overseas practicum is a mandatory program for all students of the Master of Nursing Program at UMY, taken in Block V of the third semester with a credit load of 4 SKS. To date, there have been 7 nursing education institutions and teaching hospitals as destinations for the International Practice program, spread across Thailand, Taiwan, Malaysia, the Philippines, and China.

To become a leading Master's Program in Nursing that develops knowledge and technology through interdisciplinary research grounded in Islamic values for the betterment of humanity.
