The Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) Graduate Program has committed to facilitating the deployment of its faculty to the Universitas Pendidikan Muhammadiyah (UNIMUDA) Sorong, as announced on January 16th in the Graduate Program Director’s Meeting Room. This initiative is in response to the existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UMY and UNIMUDA. Dr. Rustamaji, MM, the Rector of UNIMUDA, introduced his university to UMY’s graduate students and prospective graduates.
Prof. Dr. Siswoyo Haryono, M.Pd, Deputy Director for Academic Affairs at the UMY Graduate Program, emphasized the importance of collaboration between the two universities. He stated, “Indonesia’s future lies in eastern Indonesia. Let’s seize this opportunity to collaborate and complement each other’s strengths. This is a chance to educate the nation, and I hope this gathering is blessed by Allah.”
Dr. Rustamaji further explained that Allah has placed individuals in various positions to contribute to progress. He emphasized that Papua is not a region without a future, but rather a place with immense potential. Many newcomers to Sorong are impressed by its rapid development.
Dr. M. Nurul Yamin, M.Si, Deputy Director for Resources and Student Affairs at the Graduate Program, expressed his belief that Sorong offers opportunities for alumni to contribute to UNIMUDA’s growth. He encouraged both young and experienced faculty members to embrace the challenges of a competitive academic environment.
