UMY Postgraduate Period IV Judicium: Ready to Face the Post Truth Era and the Modern Human Crisis with Strong Science

Postgraduate Program of Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta (UMY) again held Judicium period IV T.A 2024/2025 on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 in the Amphitheater Room Lt. 4. This Judicium is the closing as well as ending the Judicium implementation period which is scheduled 4 times in one academic year. This event was solemnly attended by the Postgraduate structural ranks and 85 other Judiciary participants.

Also present was the Vice Rector for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Zuly Qodir, M.Ag., who also opened the event. As usual, Prof. Zuly opened with jokes and warmth, greeting the Yudisium participants. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of a student’s awareness as part of the academic community.

“We are part of the academic community, if there is an opportunity to speak or give an opinion, then there must be a basis and foundation, do not spread hoax news or even make it,” said Prof. Zuly regarding the importance of awareness as an intellectual. In addition, he also added the need to develop the knowledge obtained during the learning process.

The event continued with the reading of the minutes of Yudisium period IV by the Postgraduate Dean, Prof. Erna Rochmawati, S.Kp., MNSc., M.MEd.Ed., Ph.D. There were 85 judiciary participants with details; 72 students from the Masters Program and 13 students from the Doctoral Program. The achievements achieved are fairly brilliant, considering the intense competition between students. Thus, UMY Postgraduate Program is expected to be able to produce quality graduates and be able to apply their knowledge in society.

Master Program

1. Shereen Taha Taha Abdelaziz (GPA 4.00) – Master of Management (MM)
2. Aprilia Sariwijayanti (GPA 3.94) – Master of Hospital Administration (MARS)
3. Rindi Kosasi (GPA 3.83) – Master of Government Science (MIP)
4. Hesti Fathan Nurfais Fauziah (GPA 4, 00) – Master of Nursing (MKEP)
5. Nikko Budiman (GPA 3.92) – Law Master Program (HPM)
6. Abraham Ayuen Ngong Deng (GPA 3.96) – Civil Engineering Master Program (TSPM)
7. Kiky Puji Lestari (GPA 4.00) – Accounting Master Program (MAGSI)
8. Anggi Aprizal (GPA 3.88) – Master of Islamic Religion (MIAI)

Doctoral Program

1. Adi Heryadi (GPA 3.80) – Doctor of Islamic Education Psychology (S3 PPI)
2. Stivani Ismawira Sinambela (GPA 3.79) – Doctor of Islamic Politics (PI)
3. Wahyu Abdillah Utomo (GPA 3.79) – Doctor of Management (PSDM)
4. Herpita Wahyuni (GPA 3.98) – Doctor of Government Science (DIP)

In closing, the event continued with the End of Study Lecture with the theme “The Contribution of the Scholars in Facing the Crisis of Modern Man.” Dr. Bachtiar Dwi Kurniawan, S.Fil., M.P.A, as Secretary of UMY was present as a resource person and filled in the material on that occasion.

In his presentation, he explained the important role that intellectuals have in answering the challenges of the times. In detail, Dr. Bachtiar even quoted Imam Ghazali who divided the role of the intellectual community into 4 groups. Before ending his presentation, Dr. Bachtiar reminded the participants to play an active role in social life as an intellectual, especially in this post truth era.

“In this post-truth era, where truth is often justified only by perception and emotion, we must utilize digital instruments in utilizing our intellect as a scholar,” Dr. Bachtiar concluded.
