The Director of Postgraduate Studies, Sri Atmaja P. Rosidi, S.T., M.Sc., M.Eng., Ph.D., P.Eng., in his speech, stated that the Postgraduate Program must become a center of excellence for a university. This can be seen in postgraduate alumni who meet the specified academic standards.
“The Postgraduate Program is required to become a center of excellence, where postgraduate graduates must meet the specified academic standards. For example, doctoral students must have publications indexed in Scopus, and master’s students must have international journals. The aim is for the dissertations and theses produced at the postgraduate level to contribute to the community and specifically to the organization. In this case, students’ work must focus on things that can contribute, not just to meet academic credits and obligations,” said Sri.
Sri conveyed congratulations and pride to the UMY postgraduate graduates. “We congratulate our fellow postgraduate graduates who have successfully completed the entire educational process with excellent achievements,” he said.
Sri also expressed his hope that after graduation, the graduates would maintain the good name of their alma mater and the organization by being active in the KAUMY Postgraduate Commission, which was recently formed in early July. “I hope that UMY postgraduate graduates will not only work for their own interests but also work and benefit the environment and society. One way to do this is by actively building the KAUMY Postgraduate Commission Alumni Organization, which we have formed as a forum for alumni to promote UMY’s name in society,” Sri concluded.
