UMY Postgraduate Program Holds a National Seminar in Collaboration with Interfidei, UKDW, USD, and UIN Sunan Kalijaga

On Thursday, August 11th, the Postgraduate Program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (PPs UMY) held a National Seminar in collaboration with the Institut DIAN/Interfidei, the Faculty of Theology of Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana, the Faculty of Theology of Universitas Sanata Dharma, and the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Islamic Thought of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. The theme of this National Seminar was “Religion and Belief for Justice, Peace, and Humanity”. Several speakers were invited to this seminar, namely Lukman Hakim Saifuddin (Minister of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, 2014-2019) as the keynote speaker, Prof. Dr. M. Amin Abdullah (Pancasila Ideology Development Agency), Prof. Dr. Machasin (UIN Sunan Kalijaga), Prof. Dr. dr. Nyoman Kertia (Gita Santih Nusantara), Rev. Prof. Dr. Tabita Kartika Christiani, M.Th (Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana), and Romo Aloysius Budi Purnomo, Pr (Archdiocese of Semarang), with Dr. Zuly Qodir, M.Ag (UMY Postgraduate Program) serving as the moderator.

The seminar was held offline in the 4th-floor Amphitheater of the Postgraduate Program and was attended by approximately 50 participants offline, around 30 participants online via Zoom Meeting, and via livestreaming on the Postgraduate Program’s YouTube channel.

The seminar was opened with opening remarks by Rev. Dr. A. Elga J. Sarapung, Director of the Institut DIAN/Interfidei. The closing remarks were delivered by Bhikku Ven. Sri Pannavaro Mahathera from Vihara Mendut.
