
Yogyakarta – The Postgraduate Program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) successfully held a series of recitations for four consecutive days, from March 17 to 20, 2025. This activity was carried out online through Zoom Meeting and was attended by lecturers and education staff in the UMY Postgraduate Program. The recitation carries a different theme every day by presenting speakers who are competent in their fields.
The first day (March 17) was opened with the theme “Fasting and Islamic Economics”, delivered by Prof. Dr. Imamudin Yuliadi, M.Si. In his lecture, he emphasized the importance of maintaining fasting in the Holy Month of Ramadan 1446 H and discussed economics in an Islamic perspective.
The second day (March 18) raised the theme “Heaven”, with the speaker Dr. Kusbaryanto, M.Kes. This lecture discussed what the names of heaven are in Islam, and how a Muslim can take the path to enter heaven.
On the third day (March 19), with the theme “Ramadan: An Opportunity to Sharpen Resilience to Achieve Success.” This theme was carried out so that we can adapt positively and effectively in overcoming challenges, and to grow stronger after going through difficulties in the Holy Month of Ramadan 1446 AH.
The last day (March 20) was closed with the theme “Husnul & Su’ul Khatimah”, by Prof. Muchammad Ichsan, Ph.D, who explained when someone dies in a good state (husnul khatimah) and some are in a bad state (su’ul khatimah).
This series of recitations received a warm welcome from the participants, who hoped that similar activities could continue to be held regularly. (SN)
