Yogyakarta, March 14, 2025 – In an effort to increase the capacity of lecturers’ scientific publications in internationally reputable journals, the Postgraduate Program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) held Scopus Camp II T.A 2024/2025 on Friday, March 14, 2025. This activity was held in the Executive Room, UMY Student Dormitory and was attended by lecturers from various study programs in the Postgraduate environment.
Scopus Camp is designed as an intensive training forum for lecturers to strengthen their ability to write scientific articles in accordance with the standards of Scopus-indexed reputable journals. This event presented a companion, Misran, S.Sos., M.I.P., M.A.P who has experience in international publications and reviewers of reputable journals.
In his remarks, the Deputy Director of the UMY Postgraduate Program, Prof. Dr. Zuly Qodir, M.Ag. said that this activity was a form of Postgraduate commitment to encourage the improvement of the quality of research and scientific contributions of lecturers in the global arena. Furthermore, Scopus Camp was opened by the Director of the UMY Postgraduate Program, Prof. Ir. Sri Atmaja P. Rosyidi, M.Sc.Eng., Ph.D., P.Eng., IPU., ASEAN.Eng.
During the activity, participants received technical training ranging from selecting the right journal, preparing the structure of the article, strategies for dealing with the review process, to explaining how to use reference software such as Mendeley and Grammarly and AI to help facilitate participants in writing articles. The lecturers welcomed this activity because it provided direct assistance and an opportunity to discuss the article manuscripts that were being prepared.
With this activity, it is hoped that the productivity of scientific publications of UMY Postgraduate lecturers will increase, while supporting the achievement of university targets in the field of research and global academic reputation. (SN)
