Many people say that politics is dirty. Therefore, it cannot be associated with Islam. In order to address the issue of the presidential election in the next year, the Graduate Program held a public lecture with the theme “Ahead of the 2019 Presidential Election: Building a Progressive Political Civilization”.
This public lecture was attended by new students of the Graduate Program for the 2018/2019 academic year from 08.00 to 12.00 WIB. The event, which was held in the Graduate Studies Meeting Room on the 4th floor, was presented by Dr. M. Busyro Muqoddas, SH., M.Hum and moderated by Dr. Hasse. J. MA.
“Without axiological and ontological studies that refer to the Qur’an, there will be no values of the afterlife, the truth of life, the awareness of reckoning for deeds, honesty, justice, equality, benefit, humanity, sustainability, balance, partiality to truth, prioritizing values over formalities, blessings, and a peaceful soul. Knowledge can become a disaster if there is no morality in it. A poverty of systems and politics that are not civilized and progressive will make us scientists who are a disaster,” explained Dr. M. Busyro Muqoddas, SH., M.Hum as a speaker on Saturday (29/9).
He also emphasized that the Qur’an has explained in Surah Al-Maun and Surah Al-Balad the context, problems, social needs, social and political systems, laws, public policies, and judicial verdicts that are not just, the paradigm of liberative, humanistic, and transcendental science.
“As scientists, we should participate in every part of this country and make it better,” he concluded.
