Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) continues to innovate in the fields of teaching, research, and publication. This is done through efforts to develop networks to foreign countries. The UMY Postgraduate Program also continues to initiate such efforts in the form of collaborations with several foreign universities. Some time ago, the UMY Postgraduate Program visited one of the best universities in Malaysia, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Several important points were discussed together, especially regarding the possibility of cooperation related to the Visiting Professor Program, Joint Research Collaboration, and International publication. The Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Studies, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Prof. Madya Dr. Ahmad Sunawari Long, said that it is important to consider research and teaching cooperation between Malaysia and Indonesia. Indonesia and Malaysia have great potential for the development of academic fields in the future. This potential is welcomed by all parties, both UKM and UMY. Representatives from UKM, Prof. Madya Dr. Ahmad Sunawari Long, Prof. Madya Dr. Jaffary Awang, and several other lecturers were present, while representatives from the UMY Postgraduate Program included Dr. Zuly Qodir, M.Ag, Dr. Hasse Jubba, M.A, and also Postgraduate Program students, namely Tawakkal Baharuddin from the Doctoral Program in Islamic Politics and Misran from the Master’s Program in Public Administration.
