On Wednesday, March 20th, the Graduate Program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) held a religious gathering and a communal breaking of fast for its lecturers and staff as part of the 1445 H Ramadan agenda. This annual event has become a tradition at the Graduate Program during the holy month of Ramadan.
Approximately 90 participants, including lecturers and staff from the Graduate Program, attended the event held at the 4th-floor Amphitheater of the Graduate Program building.
The event began with a farewell ceremony for Mrs. Sri Maryati, a retired staff member of the Graduate Program. After the presentation of tokens of appreciation and welcoming remarks, a Ramadan religious lecture was delivered by Prof. Dr. Akif Khilmiyah, M.Ag (a lecturer from the Islamic Educational Psychology program). The theme of the lecture was “The Spirit of Ramadan and the Work Ethos of Muslims.”
