The Graduate Program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta confers degrees upon 102 new Masters and Doctoral graduates

On Tuesday (5/9), the Graduate Program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta held its first graduation ceremony for the 2023/2024 academic year at the 4th-floor Amphitheater of the UMY Graduate Program. This graduation ceremony was attended by 102 prospective graduates, consisting of 95 master’s students and 7 doctoral students.

The event began with an opening ceremony followed by a speech from the Director of the UMY Graduate Program, Prof. Ir. Sri Atmaja P. Rosyidi, M.Sc.Eng., Ph.D., P.Eng., IPU., ASEAN.Eng. Dr. Zuly Qodir S.Ag., M.Ag (Deputy Director for Academic Affairs) then read out the names of the best graduates, with details as follows:

1. Master of Islamic Studies: Titi Anjasari; GPA: 3.97 (Cumlaude).
2. Master of Management: Eko Suryantoro; GPA: 3.97 (Cumlaude).
3. Master of Hospital Administration: Bugar Wijiseno; GPA: 3.98 (Cumlaude).
4. Master of Public Administration: Tiara Khairunnisa; GPA: 3.89 (Cumlaude).
5. Master of Nursing: Sri Suryani; GPA: 3.96 (Cumlaude).
6. Master of International Relations: Hilman Mahmud Akmal Ma’arif; GPA: 3.82 (Cumlaude).
7. Doctor of Islamic Politics – Political Science: M. Syamsurrijal; GPA: 3.80 (Cumlaude).

This was followed by the reading of the awards for the best graduates of the UMY Graduate Program by Dr. Titih Huriah S.Kep., Ns.,M.Kep.,Sp.Kep.Kom, Deputy Director for Human Resources and Finance of the UMY Graduate Program, as follows:

• Best Graduate and Cumlaude of the UMY Graduate Program’s Master Program: Bugar Wijiseno (Master of Hospital Administration); GPA: 3.98
• Best Thesis Award of the UMY Graduate Program: Bugar Wijiseno (Master of Hospital Administration) Thesis Title: “ACCEPTABILITY OF HEALTH WORKERS TOWARDS TUBERCULOSIS AND COVID-19 DUAL SCREENING POLICIES IN CENTRAL JAVA MUHAMMADIYAH ‘AISYIYAH HOSPITALS.”
• Best Graduate and Cumlaude of the UMY Graduate Program’s Doctoral Program: M. Syamsurrijal (Doctor of Islamic Politics – Political Science); GPA: 3.80
• Best Dissertation Award of the UMY Graduate Program: Md. Abu Jahid (Doctor of Management) Dissertation Title: “Institutional Factors, Corporate Governance Mechanisms and Corporate Social Responsibility Reporting in a Developing Country: Evidence from Bangladesh.”

The event continued with a public lecture by Prof. Dr. Suharko, M.Si, entitled “Dealing with Changes in Social Behavior.” In his material, Prof. Dr. Suharko, M.Si said, “We all need to be more aware, understand, and take a stance towards various forms and realms of social change that are very rapid and sometimes uncertain. The progress we have achieved so far is a risk. Risk is something inherent in a forward-looking orientation.”
