To welcome the holy month of Ramadan 1443 H, the Postgraduate Program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (PPs UMY) has prepared various Ramadan activities for all academic community members of the UMY Postgraduate Program. The agenda includes Pre-Ramadan Lectures, Quran Recitation Improvement, Pre-Fasting Discussions, Ramadan Lectures, and Breaking of Fast Together.
The Pre-Ramadan Lecture 1443 H was the first event in the UMY Postgraduate Program’s Ramadan agenda. This lecture was held offline at the 4th-floor Amphitheater of the UMY Postgraduate Program. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Zuli Qodir, M.Ag., the Deputy Director for Academic Affairs of the UMY Postgraduate Program. The event was attended by structural officials, lecturers, and education staff of PPs UMY.
The next activity was the PPs UMY Quran Recitation Improvement. This activity was intended for the entire PPs UMY family to welcome the holy month of Ramadan, the month in which the Quran was revealed. The Quran Recitation Improvement was held five times on Friday (April 8th), Monday (April 11th), Thursday (April 14th), Monday (April 18th), and Friday (April 22nd). The activity was guided by Ustadz Zainal Syarifuddin, M.Si.
Pre-Fasting Discussions were organized by PPs UMY in collaboration with the study programs within PPs UMY. These discussions were held 11 times with lecturers from PPs UMY as speakers. The activities were held online via Zoom meetings from April 8th to April 26th.
Ramadan Lectures and Breaking of Fast Together were held offline at the 2nd-floor Student Lounge of PPs UMY. Dr. Hamim Ilyas, M.Ag was invited as the speaker for the Ramadan lecture. The lecture was held until it was time to break the fast, followed by a communal meal. This event was held for all academic community members of the UMY Postgraduate Program.
The Ramadan 1443 H agenda of PPs UMY concluded with a Syawalan (celebration after Ramadan) at Pondok Gajah Resto Yogyakarta on Tuesday, May 17th, 2022. PPs UMY also invited retired lecturers for this event.
