On August 20, 2021, the Postgraduate Program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta celebrated its 24th anniversary. To commemorate this milestone, the UMY Postgraduate Program held a public lecture and an award ceremony for the best lecturers and academic staff of the UMY Postgraduate Program in 2021.
The 24th Anniversary of the UMY Postgraduate Program was opened with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by an introduction delivered by the Director of the UMY Postgraduate Program, Ir. Sri Atmaja P. Rosyidi, M.Sc.Eng., Ph.D., P.Eng.IPM, and a welcoming speech by the Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, Dr. Ir. Gunawan Budiyanto, M.P., IPM. The public lecture entitled “Muhammadiyah and the Dissemination of Knowledge in the Global Arena” featured Prof. Dr. Abdul Mu’ti, M.Ed, the Secretary-General of PP Muhammadiyah, as the speaker. The public lecture was held online via Zoom and was attended by approximately 130 participants.
“Whether it’s a short or long journey, the Postgraduate Program, which started with only one study program, now has 10 study programs, 7 master’s programs, and 3 doctoral programs, and, God willing, we are preparing for other programs at both the master’s and doctoral levels. For 24 years, we have worked together to improve the quality of learning in the Postgraduate Program. The UMY Postgraduate Program has several study programs that have been awarded excellent status, and God willing, we will encourage other study programs to follow suit. So, our hope for the future is that the UMY Postgraduate Program will have excellent study programs that can provide the best education for its students at both the master’s and doctoral levels,” said the Director of the UMY Postgraduate Program, Ir. Sri Atmaja P. Rosyidi, M.Sc.Eng., Ph.D., P.Eng.IPM.
