The Graduate Program of UMY conferred degrees on 48 Masters and Doctoral students during the second graduation ceremony of the 2023/2024 academic year

On Monday, December 4th, the Graduate Program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) held its second graduation ceremony for the 2023/2024 academic year at the 4th-floor Amphitheater of the UMY Graduate Program. This graduation was attended by 48 prospective graduates, consisting of 41 Master’s students and 7 Doctoral students.

The event began with an opening ceremony followed by a welcome speech and the reading of the graduation minutes by the Deputy Director for Human Resources and Finance of the UMY Graduate Program, Dr. Titih Huriah, Ns., M.Kep., Sp.Kep.Kom. The minutes contained data on the prospective graduates and the best graduates from each study program, with details as follows:

1. Master of Management: Aldi Albilawa; GPA: 4.00 (Cumlaude).
2. Master of Public Administration: Wiyono; GPA: 4.00 (Cumlaude).
3. Doctor of Management: Efa Wakhidatus Solikhah; GPA: 3.94 (Cumlaude).

The best graduates of the UMY Graduate Program were as follows:

• Best Graduate and Cumlaude of the UMY Graduate Program: Wiyono (Master of Public Administration); GPA: 4.00
• Graduate with the best thesis achievement at UMY Graduate Program: Asriadi (Master of Public Administration) Thesis Title: “Pelaksanaan Vaksinasi Covid-19 di Lima Provinsi untuk Membangun Herd Immunity dalam Perspektif New Public Service Dan Etika Politik dalam Penetapan Test PCR di Indonesia.”
• Best Graduate and Cumlaude of the UMY Doctoral Program: Efa Wakhidatus Solikhah (Doctor of Management); GPA: 3.94
• Graduate with the best dissertation achievement at UMY Graduate Program: Andi Luhur Prianto (Doctor of Islamic Politics-Political Science) Dissertation Title: “Seleksi Kandidat Kepala Daerah di Partai Politik: Kajian Rational Choice Institutionalism pada Pemilihan Kepala Daerah di ¹ Sulawesi Selatan 2020.”

The event continued with a final lecture by Dr. Zainal Arifin Mochtar, S.H., LL.M., on the topic of “Legal Mafia in Indonesia.” In his material, Dr. Zainal Arifin Mochtar, S.H., LL.M. presented his views on the legal mafia in Indonesia. As the moderator of the final lecture, Dr. Ahmad Sahide, M.A., stated that the UMY Graduate Program encompasses not only social programs but also health, economics, business, and engineering, and that it is important for graduates to understand the concept of the legal mafia in Indonesia. Dr. Zainal Arifin Mochtar, S.H., LL.M. expressed his hope that the graduates of the UMY Graduate Program, as individuals with the privilege of completing a master’s or doctoral degree, would be able to contribute to society.
