On Saturday, February 24th, the Graduate Program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) held its second Al-Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan (AIK) Study Session for the 2023/2024 academic year. This AIK Study Session was conducted online to facilitate the participation of Graduate Program students who were not in Yogyakarta. For this session, UMY invited Prof. Dr. Zuly Qodir, M.Ag as the speaker. In addition to being the Deputy Director for Academic Affairs at the UMY Graduate Program, he was also the [Vice Chair for Studies and Strategic Partnerships at PP Muhammadiyah 2023-2027]. He was the perfect choice to deliver the material for this session as UMY carried the theme of “[Sociology of Piety from a Progressive Islamic Perspective]”.
The session was attended by over 200 participants. In addition to requiring all UMY Graduate Program students to attend and participate, the heads of each study program were also present. Despite being held online via Zoom Meeting, the enthusiasm of UMY Graduate Program students to discuss with the speaker was not hindered.
